Men’s Gymnastics 2026 Week 8 Snapshot
Marcus Pietarinen, Divier Ramos, Evan Hymanson, Colt Walker, and Khoi Young get ready to compete at Stanford
The Big Picture
Oklahoma posted the highest score so far this season, 331.3, to defeat Nebraska. Nebraska scored 321.15, a great score, but not enough to beat Oklahoma. Oklahoma had 13 sticks, by far the most of any team so far this season. Oklahoma also achieved the highest team total E score this season. Neither Oklahoma nor Nebraska incurred any neutral deductions.
Stanford defeated California 323.9 to 312.85. Asher Hong, David Shaman, and Jun Iwai were not in the Stanford line-up, as they competed in a separate Team USA rotation. Khoi Young competed for the first time since the 2025 NCAA Championships, scoring 14.45 on PH with a 5.6 difficulty routine. The official PDF only records Stanford and California. Results for everyone can be found here. Without Team USA, Stanford competed about the same total difficulty as Oklahoma (118.7 to 119).
Air Force competed against the Rocky Mountain Mavericks. Patty Hoopes showed up in the Mavericks line up with a 15.1(6.1/9) pommel routine.
Illinois bounced back from some rough meets with a score of 319.35.
So far it’s Stanford and Oklahoma out in front, followed by Nebraska, Ohio State, Michigan, Illinois, and Penn State. Championships should be another battle for the sixth spot in the finals. California or Greenville could be spoilers if they have a great day and another team opens the door.

Margin is where the leader stood after each rotation. I corrected for teams being on different events in meets that were not head to head.
Please point out errors
GymACT Rocky Mountain Mavericks @ Air Force. Calculations not done for Mavericks, as they had 5 men on per rotation (consistent with GymACT rules).
Greenville and Navy @ Illinois. Stick bonus not reported, except for VT where I could figure it out because 4.9 vaults aren’t real. Stick bonus was included in the D score otherwise. Those results are italicized.
