Men’s NCAA gymnastics 2026 Conference Championship Snapshots
Teams congratulate each other after 2026 MPSF Championships.
Overall, these meets went down about as expected. Michigan defeated its closest competition (Nebraska) in the Big 10s, and ECAC was a fight to the finish between the top three teams. Oklahoma was favored to win MPSF, but the margin was larger than I expected.

Michigan won its sixth straight Big 10 title (and Fred Richard won his fourth consecutive Big 10 AA) in a meet in which no team had a perfect day by pulling away from Nebraska in the last rotation. Nebraska was just 0.3 points behind Michigan going into rotation 6, where Michigan went to vault to score 56.2, and Nebraska went to HB to score 53.7. Michigan finished the meet with the highest total difficulty. Nebraska’s execution was 0.1 higher than Michigan’s, but Michigan’s difficulty edge gave them the meet. Illinois finished third, competing with a team difficulty only 0.5 tenths behind that of Michigan. Illinois has had some bad luck this season and had some in this meet, with Preston Ngai having to let go of the rings because of a cramp and eventually withdrawing from the All Around.

ECAC
In its fourth year of existence, Greenville took both the team (313.2) and All-Around titles (Kyler Hinson, 78.75). Navy came in second, just edging Army by 0.15 points. This meet was close throughout at the top, with Greenville breaking away on vault in the last rotation (similar to Michigan at Big 10s). William and Mary was just off its season high to finish ahead of Springfield, and Simpson broke 300.

MPSF
Oklahoma dominated from the second rotation and held steady to the finish, achieving the highest score of the 2026 season (332.1) and defeating Stanford by 4.9 points. Stanford had most of its troubles on PH and HB, although they did achieve their season high score. California recorded its season high (317.75) while competing with its highest team difficulty of the season. Jared Fry of Air Force was the only AA competitor, earning himself a berth as an individual competitor at the NCAA Championships.
Of note, Asher Hong did not compete his Ri Se Gwang vault. He has not all season, and it remains to be seen if he will do it at NCAAs.
